Xbox 360 Shipments Ramp Up news from 1UP.com
Microsoft has announced that they will start shipping two and three times the amount of Xbox 360s to retailers nationwide in an attempt to start meeting gamers' demand for next-generation gaming with the right supply.
Initially, Microsoft hoped to sell 2.75 million to 3 million consoles in the first 90 days after the product's U.S. launch in November. The company later reduced that target to 2.5 million but said it still aimed to sell 4.5 million to 5.5 million units by the end of June. The extra machines come courtesy of Celestica, a third manufacturing partner Microsoft revealed back during the Consumer Electronics Show back in early January.
